Office 365- Activating Office for Mac 2016 and more

Follow

As you may have noticed, there have been some substantial changes made this summer: new computers, wireless names, copiers, and now Microsoft® Office.  Microsoft® Office 365 is a web-based client that will allow you to access any of the Office Suite titles via the internet from ANY device.  (Yes, that means chromebooks, tablets and phones)  Before the confetti falls from the sky, we need to complete a few steps to get your going.

Open your favorite browser (Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc) and navigate to
http://portal.office.com.

You will sign in using a slightly different version of your SJSD email credentials:
(firstlast@sjsd.k12.mo.us).  Notice there is NOT a period between your first and last names. This is your NEW e-mail address.  E-mails sent to your old address WILL BE delivered to your inbox as before.

Now that you are logged in, your screen will look like this.  This is where you can access Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint on-line.  To use the web version of these programs on your computer, click on the “Launcher” button in the top left hand corner of the screen.

You will also find the new version of Office 2016 for Mac inside your Applications folder on your computer, it will need to be activated using your new email credentials:
firstlast@sjsd.k12.mo.us

Enter your password to activate your copy.

Enjoy your copy of Microsoft® Office 365 on the web and Office 2016 for Mac on your new teacher computer.
